Showers
We service all major brands of showers. Repairing or replacing a shower valve, clearing a clogged drain line, to installing a new shower pan or hot mop drain. We have the knowledge to ensure that the job is done right the first time.
Drains: Showers require a 2” drain line. All shower drains should have a strainer installed to reduce the amount of soap chip and hair from entering the sewer drain line. These items increase the possibility of having a sewer blockage. In the event of a blockage, there are smaller drain cleaning machines that can clear these lines.
In-Wall Valves: These valves have a series of washers, stems, seats, and or cartridges that are not visible. These items are usually inside the wall or behind trim plates, handles, or escussions. If you notice water stains in ceilings, on base boards, or on flooring, it may be time to have the in-wall valve looked at. If you have a lose in water pressure you may have debris in the cartridge or in the water piping itself. These Items can be diagnosed easily by a professional.
Trim: The installation of the trim is very important as well. All trim plates or escussions need to be sealed to prevent water from entering the wall and causing damage. Most trim plates have what is called a “weep hole“. The weep hole should not be sealed, for it is designed to allow any water entering around the plate to exit.
Shower Bases: All shower bases should be set in a bed of mortar for support. There are a lot of fiberglass products that need the support of a mortar base to ensure proper installation. A unsupported base can cause several major issues.
Options: Handheld sprayers, body sprayers, over head shower heads, and steam units are items that can be installed into your shower area.
