Sewer & Drain Cleaning

We have the equipment to clear lines from1 ¼” to 6”.

There are many reason that a sewer can clog, but when it does hopefully you have a clean out. What a cleanout does is give you access to the sewer line without taking apart existing piping or removing toilets to gain access. There are laws that require a 2-way cleanout on your main sewer line where the sewer line exit’s the building, but you will find homes that were built before these laws were put into effect.

Roots: Tree roots will penetrate sewer piping and cause restrictions in the sewer line. These roots will stop the flow and cause main line blockages. Drain cleaning equipment have cutting blades that attach to the drain cleaning equipment and remove the roots from the inside of the pipe, but the pipe is damaged and the roots will grow back. Often replacement of this section of pipe is needed.

Flat Spot: A section of pipe that has no grade up or down. All piping should have grade ¼” of fall per 1’ of pipe. If there is a flat spot in the line, sewage will back up in this section, sometimes causing blockage. This is caused by improper installation. Often replacement of this section is needed.

Belly: A section of pipe that dips down the back up before it resumes grade at ¼” per foot. This section holds water and can cause blockages. This is caused by improper installation.. Often replacement of this section is needed.

Bathroom: Install showers and tubs with removable catch strainers. These strainers will help with keeping hair and soap chips from going down the drain and causing blockages. These strainers must be cleaned regularly.

Kitchen: Often the kitchen uses the same sewer line as the washing machine. Never rinse fats or greases down the kitchen sink. These greases solidify in the line causing blockages, and to make things worse, lint from the washing machine drain sticks to the grease causing blockages.
